2003

Alumnus Matthieu Liethaert (SPS 2003 – 2009) won the Best TV press documentary award 2013 in Belgium for his film “The Brussels Business”. The film, which grew out of his EUI thesis, deals with the interconnections between EU decision making and lobbying and thus dives into the grey zone underneath European democracy.

2004

Congratulations to Poul F. Kjaer (Law 2004 – 2008), professor at the Department of Business and Politics, Copenhagen Business School, who has just published the book Constitutionalism in the Global Realm: A Sociological Approach (London: Routledge, 2014).

2005

Michael J. Geary (HEC 2005-2009) has been appointed EU Visiting Scholar-in-Residence at the European Union Center of Excellence at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada for the spring semester 2015.

2007

Filipa Raimundo (SPS 2007-2012) received an honourary mention from the Portuguese Political Science Association (APCP) for her doctoral dissertation entitled Post-Transitional Justice? Spain, Poland and Portugal compared which she defended at the EUI in February 2012.
