Book prize for Professor Riall

Bronte1860_RiallProfessor Lucy Riall of the Department of History and Civilization has won the 2013 Sila Special Prize for her book La rivolta. Bronte 1860.

The prize was awarded in the “Essay in translation on Southern Italy “ category and will be presented at a ceremony  on 7 December at the Ridotto del Teatro Rendano in Cosenza. The award carries a prize of 2,500 euros.

The Fondazione Premio Sila was established with the aim of promoting and diffusing the image and culture of the Italian region Calabria through the literary prize Premio Sila 49. A special prize is awarded to foreign authors writing high-quality books about Southern Italy.
