Paolo L. Bernardini (HEC, 1994) writes us from Hamburg to announce that he is one of the first international fellows of the Maimonides Centre for Advanced Studies-Jewish Scepticism, a major research centre of the University of Hamburg.  The Centre was launched in October of this year, and is devoted to the sceptical tradition of thought both within Judaism and in general, in the early modern times.

The fellowship allows Paolo to take leave from his position at the Università degli Studi dell’Insubria in Como.  At the moment he is working on a commented edition of a Latin, anti-Christian manuscript of 1634, the “Porta Veritatis” by Jacob ben Amran. He is also writing an article for “Die Zeit” on ‘Zweifeln und Wissen’, to doubt and to know.
