ESMT Academic Board_9042“Quo vadis Europe? Banks, Sovereigns and the Crisis“

The lecture will ask why Europe is struggling to deal with the “euro-crisis” and will focus on the difficulties that arose from multiple types of sovereign debt, in combination with a banking crisis, highlighting a lack of political discourse and governance mechanisms. The second half of the lecture will look at banking and governance reform.

The lecture will be given by Professor Martin Hellwig, Director of the Max Plank Institute on Collective Goods.

It will take place in the Refectory of the Badia Fiesolana at 1700 on Wednesday 27 November. To register for the event please follow the link.
