Open Access Week

A- A A+

The EUI took part in the sixth international Open Access Week in October, in line with its current open access policy that encourages academics to make their work freely available on the Institute’s research repository, Cadmus.

A series of events began on 22 October with the signing of the Budapest Open Access Initiative, set up in 2002 to promote free dissemination of research. The EUI is also a signatory of the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities.

The library organised a roundtable on open access and scholarly publishing in the digital age, introduced by the director of the EUI library, Veerle Deckmyn, and attended by over 40 people including researchers, fellows and staff.  Additionally, an Open Access Information desk was set up in the Badia. A summary of the roundtable presentation can be found on the library blog.
