A new service has been created at the EUI, bringing together the staff of the logistics and buildings services.

The decision to create a Real Estate and Facilities Service to supersede the two services was made in July and came into effect on 1 October. The new service deals with a wide range of areas, from the canteen and shop to security and events.

“The decision was taken to create a more integrated workflow between structure and infrastructure,” says Kathinka España, the service’s new director and form head of the Logistics Service.

The change will see former members of the Buildings Service move from Villa Il Poggiolo to the Badia and budgets of the two obsolete services combined.

Over the coming months the Real Estate and Facilities Service will be working on EUI Helpdesk, a website, desk and phone line for people at the EUI seeking facilities support.
