The State of the Union 2013

More than 140 members of the EUI community attended the third edition of The State of the Union conference, held last week at Florence’s Palazzo Vecchio.
A total of 68 researchers and 32 fellows participated in the conference, in addition to 19 professors and 22 other members of the EUI community such as heads of department.
The event brought together EU leaders, including European Commission President José Manuel Barroso, with political, academic and civil society leaders to discuss issues affecting Europe.
A number of Italian politicians, such as Foreign Minister Emma Bonino and Senator Mario Monti, also spoke at the event.
