Last month’s State of the Union conference was a huge online success.
The hashtag #SoU2014 was used 4,500 times over the three days, reaching approximately a million people and trending nationally in Italy, and in the politics category in Germany. Special thank should go to the Twitter team who live tweeted throughout the event; Andrea De Angelis, David Kleimann, Sabrina Marchetti, and Tiago Silva.
This social media presence helped direct people to the State of the Union website which was visited 19,000 times on the Friday, more than three times the number of visits last year. This in turn meant more people watched the multimedia content, including the live stream, promotional videos and conference highlights.
The conference’s show piece finale, the televised presidential debate, received 5,400 visits over the hour and a half in addition to being broadcast on RAI 24.
