SurPRISE Project holds town hall meeting
A- A A+
On 8 February the SurPRISE project, which explores the issues around surveillance, privacy and security, held a town hall meeting discussing deep-packet inspection and smartphone location tracking.
Held in Italian, and organised by researchers Maria Grazia Porcedda and Melissa Zorzi, the event was attended by 193 invited guests (selected as a representative sample of the province of Florence) and included movie screenings, debate and the drafting of recommendations for politicians on these types of surveillance, by the participants, which will be disseminated by the SurPRISE team in the near future.
