Professor Thomas Piketty, has delivered his Max Weber Lecture to a packed room at the EUI.
Piketty’s bestseller, Capital in the Twenty-First Century, was first published in 2013 and examines historic trends in wealth and income inequality in American and Europe since the 18th century. When Capital was first translated translated into English it sparked a global debate after topping the New York Times bestselling hardcover nonfiction list. This controversial and highly analytical 696 page book has now sold over 140,000 copies worldwide.
Recently Capital won the Financial Times and McKinsey Business Book of the Year Award for 2014.
